How can we best serve you?
Let's chat over a cup of tea or coffee. There are a few forms and questionnaires to complete, but most importantly, we want to hear your story. We want to get to know who you are and learn how we can help you to get back to where you want to be. How do you see yourself? What challenges present in your daily life?
We finish our meeting with some measurements and, if time allows, a mini treatment.
With this information, a plan of action and proposed treatment plan will be discussed.
A cancer diagnosis often brings stress, anxiety, and worry. Oncology massage can take place at any point in a your chemotherapy treatment. Many prefer massage before an infusion to help ease anxiety. Others prefer it a few days after infusion to counteract the effects of steroids or to address the resulting nausea and fatigue.
This massage is light, gentle, and scientifically proven to improve quality of life. Benefits include relaxation, sleep, immune function, relief for anxiety and pain.
Damage to the lymphatic system results in lymphedema. Once symptoms present, treatment is needed, including manual lymphatic drainage and compression therapy. We suggest one meeting before surgery so that range of motion can be tested, and measurements can be taken. Then, it is ideally scheduled as soon as possible post-surgery to avoid a painful build-up of fluid. Lymphedema treatment also includes important education on the lymphatic system, appropriate exercises, and related skin care.
After radiation and/or surgery, scarring and adhesions can cause tightness and discomfort. It’s important to work on these areas to gently release tension and tightness, improving elasticity of the skin and underlying tissue. It can make an enormous difference to the way your body feels, and the way you feel about your body.
This work is not painful; it is slow and deliberate. It facilitates a tissue response from your body and can sometimes be described as having an "unglueing" affect.
Going through a cancer journey creates anxiety, worry, and concern – for oneself and loved ones. Therapeutic massage can help you to recover and reset both mentally and physically. It can improve relaxation and wellbeing and help complete the journey back to wellness.
If you have worked with us at any point throughout your journey, you have become a client for life! This "tailored to you" massage promises you a refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to go feeling!
Oftentimes, we can forget to take care of caregivers. They are very regularly operating under tremendous stress as they try to serve breast cancer patients with optimism, positivity, and all the tasks and stressors that come with caring for a loved one who is sick. Twin Peaks is honored to provide massage services to caregivers alongside patient treatments.
When you take care of yourself, you can take better care of others.
